Hackers Love the Holidays!

Cyber Monday is the perfect time for hackers to go shopping too! Keep yourself safe by keeping a lookout for the hottest scams of this holiday season:

  • Incredible offers for free mobile phones and tablets. Outlandish deals and huge discounts are the latest things that the bad guys are doing to get your attention – and your identity.
  • Email or text messages from shipping company’s (like UPS or FedEx) stating they have a package for you, all they need is you to provide your personal information. But just think about that for a moment: shipping company’s don’t need your personal information to deliver a package! They may need a signature, but that’s usually it.

Keep yourself and your identity safe this holiday season – slow down and think before you click!

If you are unsure about the validity of an offer or an email, then your best bet is to ignore it. If you need to verify if an email, text or website is legitimate, first ask for help from your IT service partner.

Happy holidays from the IND team!
